On His Mother’s Grave

Okay, this is going to be something a little different.  In the past, the stories I’ve posted have been ones that I’d already written for other sites, then transplanted here for safekeeping.  This one never got finished, since I missed the deadline for the contest I started writing it for.  Normally, I’d throw up my hands, bemoan my procrastination, and leave it to sit on my Google Drive.  But that’s just wasted effort.  And I’ve got enough aborted starts in my portfolio.

What I’m going to do is leave myself no choice but to finish it by posting what I’ve got so far.  And then finish the rest of it in ongoing installments.  I’ve got enough for the first two parts, but after that, no net.  It’s either finish it, or embarrass myself.  Well, more than I already have around here anyway.

And so begins a tale about what happens when someone doesn’t take their vows as seriously as they should.
