Under the Weather

As befits having spent yesterday outside basking in plenty of fresh air and sunshine, I woke up this morning coughing through a sore throat. It’s as if my body is saying, “Hey, we’re all for nature, but this natural light thing is best in small doses.”
So most of this day has been a complete waste, alternating between lazily watching movies and golf and drifting off into little cat naps on the couch. I did manage to make some pancakes before standing started to feel like too much effort, but after that, I didn’t cook anything more complicated than a bowl of cereal. I haven’t even left the apartment today, so the zombie apocalypse could have happened and I’d be none the wiser. Although I get the feeling they may have interrupted the Masters for that.
I attempted to medicate, but was daunted by the unsettling number of times “2010″ and “2011″ appeared on the expiration dates on everything in the bathroom. I want to feel better, but I’m not quite that desperate yet. I managed to find some DayQuil that hadn’t shuffled off its mortal coil yet, although I do fear I’m angering the medicine gods by taking it at night. Hopefully they’ll understand my plight and grant me dispensation just this once. I promise I’ll take some NyQuil at noon as soon as possible to make up for it.
But now I think it’s time for bed. Hopefully a good night’s sleep will kick this thing in the tail. I’ll just have to make sure to try to stay under flourescent light as much as possible tomorrow. No need to make it mad.
